Before you ever have to ask what an engagement with Ayin looks like, here's one — illustrative, annotated line by line, so the document teaches you what a good Scope of Work looks like in general, not just ours.
This is a composite, illustrative example — not a real client engagement, not a current quote, and not a binding offer. Every real Scope of Work is written to the specific facts of that engagement; figures, dates, and the client name below are placeholders. Click "Why this exists" under any section to see the reasoning behind it. Governing terms are Ayin's actual Terms of Service.
Ayin will assist the Client in establishing legal standing to place its cosmetic product line on the European Union market — specifically, appointing an EU-established Responsible Person and securing CPNP notification ahead of launch.
Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 (EU Cosmetics Regulation), as administered by the national competent authority of the Client's chosen lead launch market. This Scope of Work covers the EU market only — the UK GB market requires a separate Responsible Person and a separate Scope of Work; see Exclusions below.
Illustrative only. Actual timeline depends on the completeness of the Client's existing documentation at the start of the engagement.
Payable in two stages: 50% on signature of this Scope of Work, 50% on CPNP filing (Milestone, Week 5). Third-party costs — laboratory safety assessment, translation, courier — are passed through at cost and invoiced separately.
This Scope of Work is governed by, and incorporates, Ayin's Terms of Service — Clause 4 (Engagement and scope), Clause 6 (Fees and payment), and Clause 7 (Intellectual property and ownership) apply specifically. Together, the Terms and this Scope of Work form the entire agreement for this engagement.
Your own Scope of Work will look nothing like this in its specifics — and exactly like this in its shape.
